About the Anti-Nurse Bullying Alliance

The Anti-Nurse Bullying Alliance (ANBA) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to confronting and ending bullying within the nursing profession.

We exist to protect the dignity of nurses, promote safe and respectful workplaces, and strengthen the future of healthcare by addressing one of its most urgent cultural challenges.

Why This Alliance Matters

01

Because No Nurse Should Suffer in Silence

Workplace bullying often goes unreported. We exist to ensure nurses have a safe, supportive place to speak up and be heard.

02

Because Patient Care Is Affected

A toxic work environment doesn’t just harm nurses; it impacts teamwork, morale, and ultimately patient safety and outcomes.

03

Because Mental Health Matters

Bullying contributes to stress, burnout, anxiety, and emotional trauma. Supporting nurses’ well-being strengthens the entire healthcare system.

04

Because Accountability Creates Change

Real progress happens when institutions take responsibility. We advocate for stronger policies, leadership engagement, and cultural reform.

05

Because Education Prevents Harm

Through awareness, training, and resources, we help healthcare organizations recognize, prevent, and properly address bullying.

06

Because Unity Builds Strength

When nurses stand together, they are more powerful. Our alliance creates a community rooted in respect, dignity, and professional integrity.

The Impact

On Nurses

Bullying damages confidence, mental well-being, and professional growth. Many nurses leave their roles, or the profession entirely, due to toxic workplace environments.

On Patients

Fear-based environments silence voices. When nurses hesitate to speak up, patient outcomes suffer.

On Healthcare Systems

High turnover, weakened morale, and fractured teams strain institutions already facing workforce shortages.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advocate for nurses, nurture safe workplaces, build stronger communities, and advance the profession through education, awareness, and collective action.

We are committed to:

  • Amplifying the voices of affected nurses

  • Providing guidance and resources

  • Encouraging leadership accountability

  • Promoting policies that foster psychological safety

Our Vision for the Future

We envision a healthcare culture where:

  • Respect is non-negotiable

  • Accountability is standard

  • Collaboration replaces hierarchy-driven hostility

  • No nurse feels isolated or silenced

At ANBA, we are not just raising awareness — we are building a movement for lasting change.
